Read the article passed out in class about the CPI. Summarize the arguements
in the article. Why is the use of the CPI to determine
cost-of-living-adjustments an issue of passionate debate? Draw a graph
supporting the arguement that the CPI overstates inflation measures because
it ignores substitution effects. (Hint: see your book.) Make sure to
explain your graph.
